India: CDSCO Announces New Updates to Cosmetic Division Affecting the SUGAM portal (w.e.f 16 August 2024)

Effectively starting 16 August 2024, all stakeholders are reminded to note that the number of application submissions into the e-government portal, SUGAM, have been limited to a maximum of fifty per single online and multiple application.


The circular released is to streamline the process so the applications can be processed within the stipulated time as stated in Cosmetics Rules 2020. CDSCO received various applications involving registration and import of cosmetics including post-approval changes since the implementation of e-Governance vide F. No. D21013/230/2016-DC on the 2 December 2016.
