Vietnam: MOH requires Annual Medical Equipment Inspections

Ministry of Health (Vietnam) has published Circular No. 30/2020 in December 2020 to provide the industry a list of medical equipment that require annual safety inspections and evaluations of technical competence. This Circular takes effect on 1 March 2021. Medical establishment shall have to organize safety inspection and the technical properties of the medical equipment in accordance with the prescribed implementation schedule in the Circular. List of affected medical equipment are as follows

• Ventilator

• Anesthesia machine with breathing

• Electric scalpel

• Incubation of newborn babies

• Defibrillator

• Artificial kidney machine
