The sales of hand sanitizers in Singapore do not require approval from Health Sciences Authority (HSA). From 31 Jan 2020, importer’s licence for the following medical devices is not required for the following:
Surgical masks or Medical masks (masks that have good filtration efficiency)
Particulate respirators (eg. N95 masks)
Thermometers (for human body temperature measurement)
Protective gears for medical professionals (eg. Isolation gowns and gloves)
If importing medical devices for commercial use or other purposes, a notification application form must be submitted to HSA. If importing medical devices for personal use, no notification is required from HSA for quantities below these limits:
Surgical masks: 3 boxes (3 x 50 pieces) per person
Particulate Respirators: 3 boxes (3 x 20 pieces) per person
Thermometers: 2 units per person
For imported quantity above these limits, a notification form must be submitted to HSA.
