Pakistan: DRAP-PSW Gateway Goes Live for Online Pharmaceutical Export Certificate Applications (w.e.f 1 May 2025)

On the 17th of April 2025, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) released an update announcing a significant development in its ongoing digital transformation journey – the integration of its regulatory processes with the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) platform through the DRAP-PSW Gateway.

This initiative aims to streamline and digitalize the import and clearance procedures for therapeutic goods across Pakistan, enhancing efficiency, traceability, and transparency in regulatory operations.

What is the DRAP-PSW Gateway?

It is a newly launched digital interface that allows DRAP to electronically process data related to the import of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biological products, and other therapeutic goods. This integration is part of the national drive to promote a paperless, transparent, and seamless import clearance system via the PSW.

DRAP-PSW Now Mandatory for Export Certificates

A key component of this digitalization drive also includes the streamlining of export-related processes. Effective immediately, the DRAP-PSW Gateway will serve as the exclusive platform for submission and processing of applications for the following export-related certificates:

  • Export No Objection Certificate (NOC)

  • Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (CoPP)

  • Free Sale Certificate (FSC)

  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certificate

Stakeholders must now submit all new applications for these certificates via the PSW system.

Important Reminder: The cut-off date for manual submission has been set on 1st May 2025.

This move is expected to improve processing timelines, reduce errors, and enhance regulatory oversight on exported health-related goods. Besides, this also helps to reduce the need for manual document submission and physical follow-ups, offering a single point of access for all stakeholders involved in cross-border trade of therapeutic goods.

A Step Toward Digital Transformation

The implementation of the DRAP-PSW Gateway is not only a technical integration – it represents a paradigm shift in how regulatory authorities operate in Pakistan. It aligns with international best practices and reflects DRAP’s commitment to modernization and public service excellence while at the same keeping pace with industry needs and technological advancements.

Stay tuned to ARQon for further updates from DRAP related to this integration.
