Congratulations to Mr. Alessandro Perrotta for successfully navigating a beneficial discussion session filled with invaluable insights from the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Singapore, H.E. Jamal Alsuwaidi, and the President of the UAE-Singapore Business Council, Dr Brian Shegar.

The talk offered a comprehensive overview of the UAE’s economic landscape, showcasing its strategic preparations to attract foreign startups and investors with various incentives. Besides, H.E. Jamal Abdulla highlighted the benefits and market opportunities for Singaporean manufacturers and provided prospects for bilateral relations between Singapore and the UAE.
Moreover, ARQon was able to significantly broaden our network and strengthen connections among the participants.

The after-effect of this fireside chat has driven ARQon to advance our business presence and delve deeper into the UAE market, particularly within the healthcare and MedTech sectors. The networking session hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS) CS for its healthcare industry members in Singapore created a lively atmosphere, fostering a conducive setting where members actively shared their latest business updates and discussed industry demands at both local and global levels.
ARQon seized this opportunity to expand its corporate networks and explore potential collaborations. In the rapidly evolving landscapes of Healthcare and MedTech, driven by advanced technological developments, it is crucial to broaden our networks.

The highlight of IMDS Day 3 was Market & Supply Chain Strategy, equipped with experienced speakers from various backgrounds and industries. This day's talk covered the latest market trends, opportunities, and marketing strategies that were valuable and informative for startups to apply in their companies.

IMDS also features topics on UDI barcodes, labeling, intellectual property, and distributor GDP as guidance for participants to acknowledge the importance of protecting products and companies’ rights in the Medtech market. Possible challenges and expectations were also exposed to the participants, along with the preventive measures that they may prepare to face the challenges.

Apart from that, participants were also guided on how to gain funds and develop commercialization and distribution strategies for their products to grow well in the market. Day 3 sessions & workshops have taught participants not only product commercialization but, steps on how to approach distributors and set up distribution channels.

We believe the combination of the various experiences of the speakers and powerful insights can assist IMDS participants in generating long-term strategies for their companies’ journeys.

International Medical Device School Day 2 was continued with the Design Thinking Workshop, sharing sessions on quality management systems, health safety compliance, and regulatory strategy workshops.

Dr. Sean Chia leads the Design Thinking Workshop, unveiling the finest brainstorming concept and Biodesign process allowing participants to exchange insights into the Design Thinking framework and gain fresh knowledge on Identifying needs finding, Concept Generation, and Concept Screening.

Participants were then presented with medical device global quality requirements which include electrical and electromagnetic testing, validation, and usability of software. Additionally, Day 2 also emphasized important information related to packaging and health safety compliance for medical devices, especially for wireless medical devices.

Lastly, IMDS Day 2 closed its door with a regulatory strategy workshop, discussing the importance of global or local approval, regulatory compliance strategy, and the management of technical documentation.

The final Day of the IMDS was hosted by Temasek Polytechnic offering a chance for participants to get a tour around Temasek Polytechnic and visit the HEC & Innovation Learning Lab.

The main sharing for Day 4 was about laboratory practices & medical biochemistry and microfluidics technologies and point-of-care systems. Participants were presented with an overview of the laboratory management system and the roadmap to sustainability digitalization and ISO 17025 alignment.

As microfluidics are getting attention in the medical and healthcare industry, participants were able to learn the effectiveness of the point-of-care system which is cost and time-effective compared to the traditional methods. Besides, IMDS also prepared a practical session for participants to gain experience in producing and testing a simple microfluidic device.

The IMDS - International Medical Device School once again raised its curtain for 4 days from 18 March 2024 to 21 March 2024. IMDS is a well-known annual event, co-organized by ATTOPOLIS@ARQon-Asia Regulatory & Quality Consultancy (MedTech & Drug), and Temasek Polytechnic dedicated to all medical device industry players to gather and exchange knowledge on current regulations and innovation trends. This year, IMDS Korea and Singapore are held in conjunction on 18 Mar 2024 to share the knowledge of Korean regulations with the Singapore Audience. Mediguide and Asia Pacific Medical Technology (APACMed) are our supporting organizers for IMDS Korea who are present on-site in Seoul, Korea.

The workshop was opened with welcoming remarks by the esteemed leaders, Sun Lingling, the Head of Temasek Polytechnic R&D Center, May Ng ARQon l Asia Regulatory and Quality Consultancy, CEO of ARQon International Business Group, Jack Wong 🚀(Asia Regulatory Professionals Association), 홍대희 Dae Hee Hong, CEO of Mediguide, and Gabriel SIM of Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed).

Day 1 was filled with overview sharing and case studies of global regulatory requirements and strategies including the direction of medical device development and MedTech in Korea. Besides, IMDS also reminds companies and industry players to leverage the role of trade associations for better networking opportunities across ASEAN, Asia, EU, US, and globally.

Overall, IMDS Day 1 provided the core base for startups and companies to develop medical devices equipped with global regulatory knowledge, skills for securing funds, and startup guidance.
